Your site MQTT credentials are available only upon request. Each MQTT device requires an additional monthly connection fee added when it is added to your account.

Using the MQTT credentials provided, configure your local device. The message and topic must be formatted in a specific way to be integrated into StaffAlerter. Messages received without the correct topic or message format will be ignored.

Step 1 - Dashboard

Click on Dashboard under the Devices heading at the bottom of the page.

Step 2 - Accessing a Device Page

Click on the Device Name to access the detailed information about the device and the device messages.

Step 3 - Edit the Device

Click on Edit at the top of the page

Step 4 - Device Settings

Depending upon the site, customer specifications, or the device type additional fields may be added. The first four are common to all devices.

  1. Name - Name of the device, set by the message sent by the device.
  2. UDID - Unique Identifier, set by the topic of the message.
  3. Type - Type of the device, set by the topic of the message.
  4. Location - Location of the device, see Location and User Assignments.
  5. Alarms- Optional by request.
  6. High Temp Limit - Optional by request.
  7. Current Temp - Optional by request.
