Wireless StaffAlerter Devices are 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g devices and so require a wireless network that will provide this wireless spectrum. They require that the wireless channels are between Channel 1 and Channel 11 for connection to the wireless network and that the SSID be broadcast, visible, and with a password. The devices support both WPA and WPA2 encryption and do not support a captivate portal.
<aside> ❗ Please note that with the advancements in Wireless technologies you may have to enable 2.4Ghz compatibility or legacy mode on the SSID. This may be accomplished by changing the 2.4Ghz network to only allow 802.11b or 802.11g connections.
Extreme Wi-Fi networks: Create a Device Template for the AP, Set the operating mode to 2.4Ghz and the radio mode to radio_g0, and apply this to all devices.

The ports listed below are required to be allowed for outbound connection from the StaffAlerter / Contact Notifier / SA Alert devices. The ports below need to be allowed outbound and do not require a public IP to be mapped.
A single public IP address will need to have port 22/TCP and port 8000/TCP mapped to the internal IP address of the StaffAlerter Dashboard Server. This port access should be limited to only allow connections to StaffAlerter Support, IP address available upon request. No other IP address should be allowed to connect to these ports. Another option would be to provide VPN information for access to the local device.
StaffAlerter provides a dedicated phone number for direct access to Public Announcement systems. The phone numbers that are allowed to call this number are limited to the StaffAlerter website. To allow for this SIP service to function a public IP address needs to be mapped to the internal IP of the SIP based PA unit installed at your organization. A white list allowing only the IP range and port range below must be added, restricting all other traffic on all other ports.

<aside> ❗ IMPORTANT:
Starting October 2023 the previous ports and IP Address for the SIP provider will be decommissioned and the new IP range and ports listed above will need to be added to your firewall to prevent an interruption in services and communication. After making the change above please test all installed devices to verify functionality.
