Pins and Wiring Harness

The PB-Red Button comes with a 5 wire harness.  It is important that the harness be connected to the PB-Red button correctly for operation.  On the back of the PB-Red button the + and - connections can easily be seen in a raised symbol above the Left or Right connection pin as shown in the image  below.

When connecting the wiring harness to the PB-Red button verify that the Red wire is connected to the + pin (outlined in red) and the Black wire is connected to the - pin (outlined in black).

When the button is oriented as in the above picture, the center pins from top to bottom are "Normally Closed" (Blue Wire/Box), "Normally Open" (White Wire/Box), and "Common" (Green Wire/Box).

Power Connection

The PB-Red switch accepts a 12v,  <2.5A power supply (sold separately) connected to the (Black (-) and Red (+) wires) that will illuminate the ring around the button when power is applied.  This power connection is optional.

Connecting to StaffAlerter Optically Isolated Inputs

Connection to the StaffAlerter optically isolated input boards requires the common (green wire) and the normally open (white wire) connected between the (-) connection on the optically isolated board and the (-) connection on the power supply terminal as shown in the diagram below.
