Personal Alerting Device (PAD-SB)
The Personal Alerting Device (PAD-SB) is an PM Power Products programmable button based on and as a replacement for the Amazon Dash Button hardware. This simple Wi-Fi device provides a multiple function button and is easy to configure and manage.
Using the StaffAlerter Messaging Protocol the PAD buttons have been connected to your or your customers StaffAlerter.com site. Upon pressing the PAD-SB an event is created, these events are then routed directly to your or your customers StaffAlerter.com web server where they are processed based upon the configured rule. Each PAD-SB button can be configured to have a rule configured for PAD-SB Activated, single-click, double-click, triple-click, or four or more click events on StaffAlerter.com
PAD-SB Operation
Step 1 -Waking up the PAD-SB
- The PAD-SB is an ultra low powered device that is always off until it is woken up by a press of the PAD-SB button. Pressing the button to wake it up will send a message that the PAD-SB has been activated if no other action is performed.
Step 2 - Send the desired message
- Once the PAD-SB is woken up, the LED goes Blue. It will remain awake for 4 seconds, during this time additional presses will send the corresponding message.
- Click 1 additional time: One Click message
- Click 2 additional times: Two Click message
- Click 3 additional times: Three Click message
- Click 4 or more additional times: Four or more Click message
- After Successfully sending the message the LED will go off and then come back on and flash two times (Short,Short).
Configuring the PAD-SB for a different SSID
Step 1 - Putting the PAD into discovery mode
- Remove the screw on the back of the PAD-SB button
- Briefly Press the "Wake" button until the LED lights up at the top center of board, then press and hold the button until a blue blinking light appears. (This should take no longer than 10 seconds.)
Step 2 - Connect to the Wi-Fi network
- The button acts as a bluetooth device in this mode and can be configured via a Google Chrome web browser. Configuration can only be done from a Google Chrome web browser at this time. Open the web browser and go to "https://smartboard.staffalerter.com"
- Click Connect on the website
- Select the board from the list.
- Click Pair
- From here you can update the WiFi information and Board Name.
