The StaffAlerter Local API server allows for local communication and activation of assistance request pages and emergency notification pages throughout a facility. The StaffAlerter Local API server can work in conjunction with the StaffAlerter Cloud service, StaffAlerter Local Appliance, or can operate in a standalone capacity by adding local devices on the network that can communicate with the StaffAlerter Local API Server.
The StaffAlerter Local API server will need to be located on the local area network (LAN) and communicates to devices via MQTT and Multicast Audio. The StaffAlerter Local API server supports one Multicast audio IP address and multiple ports (zones). Devices that are not in the same multicast domain or VLAN as the API server may not receive the audio pages from the server if multicast routing has not been enabled between locations or VLANS.
For integration with the StaffAlerter Cloud service, please order the Local API server at the same time as StaffAlerter Service and additional devices. When StaffAlerter is used with the Local API server additional configuration is required to take full advantage of both devices and services. Please reference the ‣ table for more information.
