The PM Power Products Tel-a-Control™ is designed to allow control of remote devices via telephone line access. Using either a FXO CO line or a FXS analog single line port, Tel-A-Control™ provides access to (2) independent relays to operate devices.
Features
- The system is protected by a programmable 4-bit password. The Default password is 8888
- The number of rings prior to answer can be set from (1-9), 6 rings is default.
- Various relay operation modes can be programmed. They include:
- Normally Open
- Normally Closed
- Timed Closure
- The timed closure duration can be set from 1 - 99 seconds. A value of 0 eliminates any timeout.
- Each relay (2 per system) has a red LED indicator that operates when the relay is active.
- Passwords remain even when the board is powered down.
- The system will accept up to 10 password attempts before disconnecting.
- The system will time out after 20 seconds with no user input
- The control board must be connected to a DC 12V power supply, (included).
Operation
- Apply power to the Tel-A-Control. The Green LL indicator will flash indicating the system is ready
- Attach either the FXO or FXS line to the RJ11 connector (marked "LINE" on the board)
- Initiate a phone call to the control board by calling the number associated with the FXO or FXS line. In the default state, the caller will hear 6 rings (programmable from 1 to 9 rings), the board will connect to the phone and the user will hear 4 “beep” tones.
- Input the password programmed for the system. Each correct digit will provide a 2 Beep signal. (Default password is [8] [8] [8] [8]). It is recommended to not dial too quickly to ensure all DTMF tones are detected and processed by the Tel-A-Control™.
- Upon successful input of the password, the user will hear 4 “Beep” tones. The green LED will be lit during this operation. If an incorrect password is entered, the user will hear 3 “Beep” tones. To cancel the process and re-enter the password, the user can enter “*”, then re-enter the correct password. The maximum attempts before disconnecting is 10 attempts.
When the system answers, the user will have 20 seconds to begin entering their password. After 20 seconds, if the user has not begun to enter a password, they will hear 9 quick Beeps followed by a system disconnect. Each DTMF entry (button push) will provide a 20 second delay (inter-digit timer).
